Amy L Bender
Amy grew up in South Western Pennsylvania on a dairy farm and now lives in Columbus, Ohio with her family. She has a background in Early Childhood Education and Development and is currently a stay-at-home mom.
She is often inspired by nature and the calm depth that she experiences when painting landscape scenes. Amy enjoys creating works of art that causes the viewer to pause and reflect on how it connects with them, possibly through memories or present emotions.
She works mostly with oil paints, acrylic paints, digital art, and colored pencils. She enjoys trying to convey illustrative and impressionistic styles in the landscapes, animals, and other various subjects she recreates.

Amy combines impressionistic art techniques with elements of realism and illustration to create artwork that is textured and dynamic.

Amy often explores the concept of “home” in her work. She believes all of humanity is in search of “home”; the knowledge and feeling that one is safe, deeply known, cared for, and can experience life through joy.
How do life experiences develop and influence one’s sense of home in a physical place and within oneself? How much are individuals and families shaped by having a secure sense of “being at home” versus not? Amy’s work is a reflection of her processing these types of questions for herself and her family.
