Why I Create Art

I grew up in South Western Pennsylvania and now live in Columbus, Ohio. I am inspired by my upbringing and how it lies in contrast to my current life experiences. When I’m creating a painting or a drawing, I am often reminiscing of those childhood days and feeling the loss of my son missing out on those experiences. I also find myself dreaming of all the experiences he will get to have that I didn’t. I feel both a deep gratefulness and grief.

I work mostly with oil paints, acrylic paints, and have recently explored digital art. I enjoy trying to convey llustrative and impressionistic styles in the landscapes, animals, and other various subjects I paint.

I am enjoying creating artwork on many different surfaces and materials. These are influenced heavily by the exploration of my past, my present, and my future self. These represent different parts of who I am and what fills my thoughts. I am still learning about myself, and each new creative journey is me processing that.
