"Untitled”

This painting makes me reminiscent of the wind blowing in my face as I walk down our long lane to come home from school as a kid. It makes me think of the expansive sunsets that would fill the PA sky almost every night. Tall grass that I was actually always a little hesitant to walk through because of snakes and bugs but really wanted to do so that I could be like someone in the movies. And late summer evenings when my siblings and I would play outside until it got cold and dark. 

My heart truly desires this space again in many ways. I can convince myself that if only we lived in the country...then I wouldn't be so anxious. Then I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed by the world around me. Sure, maybe it would help, but it wouldn't fix everything like I wish it would. Painting these landscapes is a roundabout way for me to process how I process my life now living in the city.
